Fluid Art History
In the 1930's Artist & Muralist David Siqueiros stumbled upon "accidental painting". He influenced future abstract fluid artists everywhere.
Paul Jenkins, American abstract impressionist began
pour painting in the 1950's.
Although I've been immersed in art all of my life; I discovered fluid art/pour painting a few years ago, it grabbed my heart and I have been pouring ever since. Creating fluid art is both enjoyable & therapeutic for me.
The primary source of my fluid art education and training has been YouTube, various internet sources, and books.
I find inspiration for my pours in nature and the world around me.

Galaxy Pours require layering paint into a cup, flipping the cup and then stretching the paint over the canvas. Materials: acid free canvas, acrylic paint, Floetrol, polyurethane & water

Bottle Cap Pours are smaller dirty/galaxy pours, done with bottle caps or small cups. Materials: acid free canvas, acrylic paint, Floetrol, polyurethane & water

Swipes are created by layering paint onto the canvas and using various tools to swipe thru the paint. Materials: acid free canvas or wood, acrylic paint, Floetrol, polyurethane, silicone (varies) & water

Ring Pours require a steady hand to create tree like rings. Dutch Pours require a blow dryer to distribute the paint over the canvas. Materials: acid free canvas, acrylic paint, Floetrol, polyurethane & water
